Vladimir Putin announces “partial mobilization” of the population in Russia

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin today announced a “partial mobilization”in a televised address to the nation.

The measure, which comes into force today, responds to the need to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countrystressed the president.

“The partial mobilization decree provides for additional measures to fulfill orders to the military industry,” Putin added.
